Ir. Mak Wai Kin has over 19 years of experience in geotechnical detailed design & analysis and design management for large transportation, building, port and infrastructure projects such as highway and railway. He has been actively involved in both geotechnical and prestressed concrete structural consultancy works. He leads the geotechnical design team and providing technical supports for the underground and tunneling construction work of the 1st MRT SBK Line in Kuala Lumpur. Subsequently, Mak leads the geotechnical teams for the detailed design of 6 underground stations in 2nd MRT SSP Line. Other notable projects he was involved include Rapid Transit System between Johor Bahru and Singapore, AMG & KLJ LRT Extension Lines, Electrified Double Tracks, PLUS Third Lane Widening, Penang Second Bridge, Penang Bridge Widening, Pan Borneo Highway Sabah and Sarawak Coastal Road.
Mak specializes in geotechnical works such as deep foundations, soft ground treatment, soil & rock slopes design and stabilisation, underground works, tunneling, retaining system and earthwork as well as prestressed concrete design for raft foundation and building structural.
Wai Kin is a Professional Engineer and holds a Master degree in Engineering. He is fluent in speaking and writing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
